Labor protection equipment is a daily item that provides personal safety protection and benefits physical and mental health, including supplies and food. It can be said that the personal safety of every safety worker cannot be separated from the protection of labor protection equipment, but can you use labor protection equipment correctly?

1、 Correct use of safety helmet

1. Check the safety helmet. Mainly inspect whether there are cracks or deformations in the cap body; Check if the cushion ring and chin strap inside the hat are intact and if the connection is secure; Check if you have received heavy blows; Check if it has exceeded its service life (the service life of fiberglass safety helmets is 3 and a half years, calculated from the date of manufacture); Check if the new safety helmet has the manufacturer name, production license number, production date, etc.

2. Adjust the size of the inner cushion ring of the safety helmet. Until there is a slight sense of restraint on the head, but it is not uncomfortable, it is advisable that the safety helmet will not fall off when the chin strap is not fastened and the head is lowered; The vertical distance between the top of the head and the space inside the hat should not be less than 32 millimeters to ensure sufficient buffer space on the head and facilitate ventilation.

3. Wear a safety helmet. Do not wear a safety helmet crooked, and do not put the edge of the helmet on the back of the head. Female employees long hair must be tied inside the hat.

4. Secure the chin strap. The chin strap should be tightly attached to the lower jaw, with a degree of tightness that provides a sense of restraint but is not uncomfortable. This can prevent the safety helmet from being blown off by strong winds, knocked off by other objects, or falling off when the head swings.

2、 The correct use of air respirators

1. Check the air respirator. Check if all components of the air respirator are complete and undamaged, and if the joints, pipelines, and valve body connections are intact; Check the air tightness and pressure value of the air supply system of the air respirator; Close the bypass valve and gas supply valve of the gas supply valve, then turn on the bottle valve switch, correctly wear the full face mask on the head and take a deep breath. The valve of the gas supply valve should be able to automatically open and supply gas; Check if the gas cylinder is securely fixed.

2. Place the air respirator with a quick connector and the bottle valve downward on the back of the human body; An air respirator with a quick connector, after separating the full face mask and air supply valve, place the bottle valve downwards on the back of the human body; Adjust the length of the belt according to your height and waist circumference, then fasten the belt. Adjust the pressure gauge to a position that is easy for the wearer to observe.

3. Insert the quick connector, and also connect the gas supply valve and the full face cover; For air respirators without quick couplings, the neck strap of the full face mask should be hung around the neck.

4. Open the bottle valve switch more than once, and there should be a loud alarm sound at this time, indicating that the bottle valve has been filled with compressed air after opening; The pointer of the pressure gauge should also indicate the corresponding pressure.

5. Wear a full face mask, take a deep breath, and observe the pressure gauge after the gas supply valve is supplied. If there is a swing, it indicates that the opening of the bottle valve switch is not sufficient. It should be opened again until the pressure gauge does not fall back.

3、 Correct use of eye and facial protective equipment

Choosing appropriate eye and facial protective equipment requires proper use in order to achieve effective protection. Before use, refer to the user manual to understand the wearing method and precautions, such as whether it is fragile. Before wearing, check whether the protective equipment is intact. After wearing the protective equipment, check whether it is stable and whether it will fall off when performing work-related actions such as bending over or lowering the head. In places where eye hazards exist, eye protection equipment should be consistently worn. When entering hazardous areas, main or visitor personnel should follow the same safety regulations and always wear protective equipment in the workplace.

4、 Correct use of auditory organ protective equipment

When wearing various earplugs, first lift the auricle upwards to make the ear canal flat, then hold the earplug handle and gently push the earplug cap into the external auditory canal, and try to make the earplug body fit the ear canal as closely as possible. But dont use too much force, too quickly, or insert too deeply. Its better to feel moderate about yourself.

When you feel that the sound insulation is poor after wearing it, you can slowly move the earplugs and adjust them to the effective position. If the effect is still unsatisfactory after repeated investigation, consideration should be given to using earplugs of other models and specifications repeatedly for standardized use.

3. When wearing foam plastic earplugs, the cylinder should be replaced with a cone, and then inserted into the ear canal to allow the plug to rebound and fill the ear canal.

4. When wearing silicone rubber self-formed earplugs, it is important to distinguish between the left and right plugs and avoid making mistakes; When inserting into the ear canal, it is necessary to slightly rotate and place it in the correct position, so that it is tightly attached to the nail cavity.

5、 Proper wearing of work clothes

Wearing work clothes correctly can coordinate temperature regulation, protect the skin, and achieve waterproof, fireproof, anti-virus, and heat-resistant radiation protection purposes. Whether wearing work clothes is reasonable is directly related to human health.

When working in high temperature environments, there is a large amount of thermal radiation exposure. Therefore, work clothes worn under high temperature conditions should be made of thick and soft fabrics as much as possible. In addition, working in high temperatures causes excessive sweating, and some people prefer to go shirtless. This can lead to skin burns caused by thermal radiation, making the skin hot and dry, reducing heat dissipation function, and also making it easy for the body to be injured. Therefore, when working in high temperatures, not only should work clothes be worn, but also thick long sleeved clothes and pants should be worn.

6、 Correct wearing of work shoes

Choose work shoes of appropriate size according to the needs of the workplace. Wear regular work shoes in general places; Electricians should wear electrically insulated shoes during work; Wear waterproof work shoes when working in water pits. To tie the shoelaces, they should be tied tightly and not left too long, dragging them on the ground.

7、 Correct use of seat belts

1. According to the nature of the industry and the needs of the job, choose seat belts that meet specific usage ranges. For workers such as scaffolders, painters, and welders, hanging work safety belts are used, while electricians use fence work safety belts.

2. Check the seat belt for the following issues before use: whether there are any signs of damage on the surface; Whether the various components of the seat belt are intact; Whether it has exceeded its service life, the service life of seat belts is 3-5 years, and any abnormalities should be scrapped in advance. It should be noted that after two years of use, seat belts must be randomly inspected; Does the new seat belt have the manufacturer name, production license number, production date, etc.

3. Safety belts should be hung high and used low, and it is strictly prohibited to hang them low and use them high.

4. The seat belt must be hung in a secure and reliable place. It is not allowed to tie knots or directly hang the hook on the safety rope. The hook must be hung on the connecting ring for use.
