Lighting distribution box equipment is a device responsible for controlling, protecting, converting, and distributing electrical energy at the end of the low-voltage power supply system. It is mainly composed of wires, components (including isolating switches, circuit breakers, etc.), and boxes.

The lighting distribution box is a basic power distribution device that combines residual current action protectors and air circuit breakers in a reasonable manner to achieve centralized control of household power supply, as well as protection functions such as grounding, overload, and short circuit. There are also busbars for protecting the grounding wire and neutral wire inside, which facilitate the wiring of various low-voltage distribution systems (TT, TN, IT systems). Lighting distribution boxes are widely used in various buildings, squares, stations, and industrial and mining enterprises as terminal electrical equipment for power distribution systems.


The structure of the lighting distribution box is divided into two types according to the installation method: closed hanging (exposed) and embedded (concealed). The main structure is divided into box shell, panel, installation bracket, neutral busbar, grounding busbar and other components. There are opening holes for operating the main switch and branch switch on the panel. If it is not necessary to install all branch switches, a sealing plate can be used to partially seal the opening holes. The knock off holes for the incoming and outgoing lines are placed on both the upper and lower sides of the box shell. There is also a long circular knock off hole on the back, which can be used after tapping any hole according to the user us needs. Lighting distribution boxes can be divided into steel boxes, stainless steel boxes, iron boxes, and plastic boxes according to the material of the box body.


Precautions for use

(1) When adding a new load, it is necessary to consider whether the added current exceeds the rated current of the air circuit breaker controlling the circuit. When exceeding the limit, it is necessary to replace it with an air circuit breaker of the corresponding capacity. Before replacing the air circuit breaker, cut off the power and fix it firmly after replacement.

(2) When replacing an air circuit breaker, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the rated current of the distribution box, the rated current of the load, etc., and the replaced air circuit breaker should still be installed with the principle of upward operation for closing.

(3) The residual current operated protector should be tested at least once a month.

(4) The cover of the distribution box should be intact and undamaged, and should be promptly closed after operation.
